Water Ski and Wakeboard Canada (WSWC) is happy to announce Becky Moynes as the 2023 WSWC Female Barefoot Athlete of the Year award recipient! This award recognises Becky’s outstanding achievements and contributions to the sport of barefooting in Canada. 

Becky stands as Canada’s top female barefooter in 2023, maintaining her position at the pinnacle of the sport for over a decade. Her dedication and passion for barefooting are truly remarkable. In addition to Becky’s National accolades, Becky has brought home medals at past World Barefoot Championships. Currently, she is training for the upcoming 2024 World Open Barefoot Championships hosted in Florida this October. 

Becky has not only achieved greatness as an athlete but has also played a pivotal role in advancing barefooting in Canada. As a key organizer, she has worked tirelessly to promote the sport and create opportunities for aspiring athletes. Her leadership and dedication have left an indelible mark on the barefoot community. 

In addition to her impressive athletic achievements, Becky has also juggled the roles of a devoted mother, an entrepreneur, and a community leader. Amidst her training schedule, Becky has raised two daughters, established her own physiotherapy clinic, and worked tirelessly on the family farm in Belleville, Ontario. Her commitment to excellence extends beyond the water, embodying the spirit of perseverance and determination.
