2024 WSWC Steve Bush Coach of the Year: Jason McClintock
Jason McClintock exemplifies what it means to be an exceptional coach and leader in our sport. From guiding new skiers to motivating seasoned club members and competitive athletes, Jason’s dedication has helped countless individuals reach their potential. While his primary focus is on slalom, trick, and jump, he has gone the extra mile to learn barefoot skiing to support his athletes. Jason’s guidance, encouragement, and passion embody the qualities that make our sport exceptional.
2024 WSWC Volunteer of the Year: Crystal McLeod
Crystal McLeod has been instrumental to the success of WSWBC throughout 2024. Serving as Treasurer and organizer of WSWBC’s Waterski Camps. Crystal coordinated 14 different camps at 10 locations across British Columbia, working with 8 coaches to mentor hundreds of children aged 5–19. She manages scheduling, budgeting, payments, and logistics, ensuring every camp runs smoothly. Crystal’s tireless work throughout the year has made BC’s waterski camps a national model and provided countless young athletes with opportunities to develop their skills and experience new lakes and locations.
2024 WSWC Official of the Year: Michele Grant
Michele Grant has demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication as Chair of Water Ski Canada’s Officials Committee. In 2024, she organized seminars for starting officials, contributed as a scorer at the IWWF U17 World Waterski Championships, and supported the 2024 Canadian Water Ski Championships at the national level. Michele ensures that every event runs smoothly, providing judges with the tools they need and mentoring the next generation of scorers—a critical role for the sport. Her professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment make her a truly deserving recipient of the Official of the Year Award.
