This weekend saw the crowning of Alberta’s Megan Pelkey as Jr. Masters champion.

Megan Pelkey won the overall event at the 2023 Jr. Masters at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, GA this past weekend. To achieve this great result, Megan placed 3rd in the trick competition, 3rd in the jump competition and 6th in the slalom competition. Her personal best jump of 36.2m/119ft secured her the gold medal in the overall competition.

This is Megan’s third consecutive victory in a major competition. At the PanAm Championships in Santiago, Chile in December 2022, Megan won the U17 overall title. In January 2023, Megan became the U17 World Overall Champion. Now Megan is a Jr. Masters Overall Champion with two additional bronze medals to her name.

Fellow Canadian and teammate Nellie Allard (QC) finished 3rd overall in the Jr. Masters.

The best junior water skiers from around the world compete in the Jr. Masters. The Masters is regarded as one of the most prestigious water sports events in the world. Robin Lake at Callaway Gardens is the venue for the Masters. The lake was built specifically for the Masters competition, which is held each year over Memorial Day weekend.
