Water Ski and Wakeboard Canada is pleased to recognize Alex Sickinger as the 2025 WSWC Junior Barefoot Athlete of the Year.
Alex has been competing since 2022 alongside his older brother Simon, and has demonstrated consistent growth and commitment to the sport. His steady progression has been evident at both the national and international levels.
At the 2025 Barefoot Nationals, Alex achieved a new personal best trick score, an accomplishment made even more impressive given the challenging rough water conditions. His performance reflects both his technical development and ability to adapt in competition.
Alex’s participation in the past two World Championships, along with four consecutive National Championships, highlights his dedication and passion for barefoot water skiing. His continued involvement at this level speaks to his work ethic and long-term commitment to the sport.
