Water Ski Canada is excited to announce that Anna Wheeler will be competing in the 2024 IWWF Pan American Waterski Championships, held from October 8-12, 2024, in Bogotá, Colombia. Anna will represent Canada as part of the U14 team, competing in the slalom and trick events.
Hailing from Thornhill, Ontario, Anna has been water skiing for seven years, building an impressive track record along the way. Her personal bests include scoring 1@12 metres in slalom and achieving 1280 points in the trick event. No stranger to international competition, Anna first represented Canada at the 2022 Pan American Championships in Santiago, Chile, when she was just 12 years old.
Anna’s passion for water skiing started at her family cottage, where she first hit the water at the age of 2, inspired by her grandparents, who were also avid skiers. Some of her favourite memories come from skiing at her cottage, a place where her love for the sport truly blossomed.
Her hard work and dedication have led her to pursue goals of competing in more international events while continuing to refine her skiing style and technique under the guidance of her coaches.
Anna is thrilled to head to Colombia, not only for the opportunity to compete but also to meet new people from across North and South America. She is eager to experience new things and represent Canada on the international stage.
