The Major Events Committee is now accepting bid applications to host the 2018 and 2019 National Water Ski Championships in an effort to provide more effective timelines for organizing committees. If interested, you are invited to view the host responsibilities and criteria outlined below.
DEADLINE
Deadline for the 2018 Nationals is October 20, 2017, * please email your intent to submit ASAP
Deadline for the 2019 Nationals is December 15, 2017
Deadline for 2020 Nationals is September 30, 2018
DOCUMENTS & INFO TO INCLUDE IN BID
Please include: (at a minimum)
- Outline of Organizing committee (including names of key members)
- Proposed Site
- Proposed dates
- Preliminary Budget
- Letter of support from your PSO – Including anticipated revenue sources (i.e. Entry fees, Sponsorship, Municipal and Provincial Grants, WSWC, etc.)
- Your Expectations of:
o National Office
o Major Events Committee
o Water Ski Committee
o Officials Committee
o Technical Committee
- Any proposed/anticipated rule change requests
- Any proposed/anticipated changes to the “traditional” schedule of events
- Any other supporting documents you deem relevant

NOTE:
Water Ski and Wakeboard Canada and the Water Ski Committee are in the process of reviewing where and how funds are allocated and we anticipate a reduction in funding contributions from these 2 bodies compared to previous Championships (addendum to be made available). While WSWC, WSC, Marketing Committee and the Major Events Committee will work with Organizing Committees to maximize revenue opportunities, going forward Organizing Committees will be expected to generate greater revenues to cover event expenses.
Over the coming months, the Major Events Committee will be creating a hosting “handbook”, we expect to have a preliminary draft ready in the next 7 to 10 days and will forward to any interested parties.
