Blake Lamontagne Named 2025 WSWC Male Adaptive Water Ski Athlete of the Year
Water Ski and Wakeboard Canada is pleased to recognize Blake Lamontagne as the 2025 WSWC Male Adaptive Water Ski Athlete of the Year.
Blake’s season was defined by outstanding performances, a disciplined approach to training, and an ability to deliver results at the highest level of competition. His commitment to improvement was evident through an extensive training schedule that included over two months in California, additional time training in Alberta, competition at National Championships, and participation in team training camps in Florida. This level of preparation reflects a strong dedication to high-performance sport.
At the 2024 U.S. Nationals in Auburndale, Florida, Blake competed against a deep international field and earned multiple podium finishes, placing second in Seated Men’s Tricks, second in Seated Men’s Slalom, and third in Seated Men’s Jump.
Internationally, Blake continues to establish himself among the top athletes in the sport. He is currently ranked first in Men’s Seated MP3 Tricks and holds the world record in the event, highlighting his consistency and technical ability on the water.
A defining aspect of Blake’s season was his perseverance. He continued to train and compete while managing a broken foot, adapting his approach while maintaining a high level of performance. His ability to overcome this challenge and still achieve podium results speaks to his resilience and focus.
With over a decade in adaptive waterskiing and three appearances at the World Championships, Blake has built a career marked by steady progression and commitment. He remains competitive across all three events and continues to be a strong representative of Canadian adaptive waterskiing.
