In a display of grit and determination, Canada’s Ashley Leugner clinched her position today in the Women’s Wakeboard Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) at the 2023 Santiago Pan American Games. Her outstanding performance has earned her a spot in the Women’s Wakeboard Finals, slated for tomorrow, October 23, 2023.

Reflecting on her path to the finals, Ashley remarked, “It feels good. It would have been great to go into finals right away on the first day, but going through LCQ still puts me in the same spot to lay it down tomorrow and hopefully end up on the podium.”

The emotion in her voice was palpable as she continued, “I put a lot of hard work in, mentally, physically to be able to be here. So thanks to everyone who helped.” Searching for words to encapsulate the whirlwind of feelings, she admitted, “I’m speechless.”

With the finals looming, Ashley’s mindset is crystal clear. “I just want to stand up my run. I haven’t been able to do that yet this weekend. So as long as I stand up my run, I’ll go home happy.”

Water Ski and Wakeboard Canada stands behind Ashley. Her performance today was a testament to her dedication, and we are excited to cheer her on in the finals.
