Canadian Athletes Earn Five Podiums at the 2026 Moomba Masters
Melbourne, Australia – Canadian athletes recorded five podium finishes at the 2026 Nautique Junior Moomba Masters International Invitational and the 65th Nautique Moomba Masters International Invitational, held March 5-9, 2026 on the Yarra River in Melbourne, Australia.
At the Nautique Junior Moomba Masters (March 5-6), two Canadians reached the podium. Charlie Ross, from Winter Garden, Florida who trains in Muskoka during the summer months, won U21 Men Slalom with scores of 4 buoys at 10.25m (41-off) in round 1 and 3 buoys at 10.75m (39-off) in round 2. Samson Clunie of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan placed third in U21 Men Jump with 51.8m (170ft) in round 1 and 51.1m (168 ft) in round 2.
Competition continued at the 65th Nautique Moomba Masters International Invitational from March 7-9, where Canadians added three more podium finishes.
Charlie Ross captured the Men’s Slalom title with 3.5 buoys at 10.75m (39-off), becoming back-to-back Moomba Masters Champion. Neilly Ross, from Winter Garden, Florida who trains in Muskoka during the summer months, finished second in Women’s Tricks with 9,630 points. Ryan Dodd of Olds, Alberta won Men’s Jump with 68.7m (225 ft).
Held annually as part of the Moomba Festival in Melbourne, the Moomba Masters is one of the longest-running professional water ski and wakeboard events in the world and attracts many of the sport’s top athletes each year.
