Charlie Ross Wins Silver in Men’s Slalom at the 2025 IWWF World Waterski Championships
Recetto, Italy – September 2, 2025 – Water Ski Canada congratulates Charlie Ross on his outstanding performance at the 2025 IWWF World Waterski Championships, held August 26–31 in Recetto, Italy.
Charlie, from Winter Garden, Florida, who trains in Muskoka, Ontario during the summer months, delivered an exceptional showing in Men’s Slalom. After tying for the top seed in the preliminary round, Charlie advanced into the finals with strong momentum. In the finals, he ran 1@9.75m/43off to tie the lead, a score that matched the World Championships Record, and forced a run-off for the gold medal. Charlie ultimately secured the Silver medal, marking a major milestone in his career.
His result added to Canada’s impressive showing at the World Championships, where the Canadian Team earned Silver in the Team Overall competition. The 6-person Canadian Team included:

In addition to Charlie’s silver, Team Canada athletes captured medals across several disciplines. Jaimee Bull won Gold in Women’s Slalom, Neilly Ross won Gold in Women’s Trick, Dorien Llewellyn secured Gold in Men’s Overall and Bronze in Men’s Jump, and Ryan Dodd claimed Silver in Men’s Jump.
The 2025 IWWF World Waterski Championships brought together more than 180 athletes from over 30 countries, with competitors across slalom, trick, jump, overall, and team events. Ross’s performance highlights Canada’s strength in slalom and reinforces the nation’s position among the world’s elite in waterskiing.
