COACHES COURSES BY WSWO

Water Ski and Wakeboard Ontario (WSWO) offers annual coaching courses for those looking to become Foundations level trained instructors, as well as for coaches who want to build upon their coaching status through the Build the Skills discipline-specific workshops.

Foundations Level Training: There are two separate courses required to receive Foundations Training:

  • Part 1: Foundations (virtual)

  • Part 2: Boat Driving (in-person) or Cable-specific (in-person)

You must register separately for each part depending on the instruction you need.

Requirements to be an Active Coach: To become an active coach, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Successfully complete the Virtual Foundations training (Part 1) and the Safe Boat Driving or Cable Operating workshop (Part 2).

  • Hold a valid Adult/Youth WSWO Membership.

  • Hold an active First Aid/CPR certification.

  • Hold a valid Canadian Pleasure Craft Operator License.

  • Provide a Criminal Background Check (valid within 3 years of the date of issue).

  • Complete the NCCP Safe Sport eModule (to be discussed during the virtual component and will be available once an NCCP number is assigned).

  • Complete the NCCP Making Headway in Sport concussion training (to be discussed during the virtual component and will be available once an NCCP number is assigned).

  • Complete the NCCP Making Ethical Decisions online evaluation (to be discussed during the virtual component and will be available once an NCCP number is assigned).
