Dorien Llewellyn Wins Gold and Bronze at the 2025 IWWF World Waterski Championships
Recetto, Italy – September 2, 2025 – Water Ski Canada proudly congratulates Dorien Llewellyn on winning Gold in Men’s Overall and Bronze in Men’s Jump at the 2025 IWWF World Waterski Championships, held August 26–31 in Recetto, Italy.
Dorien, from Lake Worth, Florida, represents Innisfail, Alberta, where his father Jaret Llewellyn grew up skiing. Jaret is one of the most decorated athletes in water ski history, and Dorien’s achievements in Recetto add another chapter to the Llewellyn family’s remarkable legacy in Canadian and international water skiing.
Dorien delivered a standout performance in Overall to secure the World Title with impressive results across all three disciplines. He ran 4.5@10.75m/39off in Slalom, scored 11,410 points in Trick to make the Trick Final where he placed 6th, and jumped 69.9m/229ft to earn the Bronze medal in Men’s Jump.
Dorien’s performances on the water were key contributions to Team Canada’s overall performance at the championships. Dorien, part of the 6-person Canadian Team, helped Canada earn Silver in the Team Overall Competition. The 6-person Canadian Team included:

The 2025 IWWF World Waterski Championships featured more than 180 athletes from over 30 countries, with competition across slalom, trick, jump, overall, and team events. Llewellyn’s multi-event success highlighted his versatility and strengthened Canada’s standing among the top waterskiing nations in the world.
