Water Ski Canada is thrilled to announce that Ethan Kuntz, from Conestogo, Ontario, will represent Canada on the U14 Team at the 2024 IWWF Pan American Waterski Championships. The event will take place in Bogota, Colombia, from October 8-12, 2024. Ethan will compete in the slalom, trick, and jump events, marking his debut on the international stage.
Ethan, who has been water skiing for five years, holds personal bests of 3.5 buoys at 12 metres in slalom, 2,020 points in tricks, and a jump distance of 20.8 metres. A four-time Canadian Slalom Champion, Ethan’s favourite water ski memories include running the 12 metre line in practice and doing his first 3/4 cut at the jump. His passion for water skiing began when his sister started skiing, and he decided to try it out — he quickly fell in love with the sport.
With big goals in sight, Ethan is determined to become a Slalom World Champion, jump over 200 feet, and score more than 10,000 points in tricks. In addition to his water skiing achievements, Ethan is also a black belt in Taekwondo, demonstrating his dedication and discipline across multiple sports.
The 2024 Pan American Waterski Championships will be Ethan’s first international tournament, where he will compete against the best athletes from across the Americas.
