Lโ Canadian Athlete Insurance Program (CAIP) is a national insurance program designed specifically for Canadian athletes. It provides affordable, sport-focused coverage to help protect athletes against the costs associated with injuries and medical emergencies that may occur during training, competition, or travel.
CAIP is available to athletes of all levels and complements provincial health insurance by covering additional medical expenses not typically included in provincial plans.ย

In Canada Athlete Insurance
Provides coverage for expenses incurred for medical and therapy treatments as a result of a sport-related injury during training, competition, or travel to and from these activities.
CAIPโs In Canada insurance includes both accident coverage and, depending on the plan selected, overuse injury coverage, which addresses chronic injuries caused by repetitive activity. Overuse coverage remains one of the most utilized benefits by Canadian athletes.
Coverage may include services such as:

- Chiropractic care
- Orthotics and other medical supports
Athletes can choose from different levels of coverage (Bronze, Silver, Gold), with options that include:

- Silver: $560
- Gold: $955

Travel Medical Insurance (Out of Province / International)

Travel medical insurance provides 24-hour emergency coverage for athletes while training or competing outside their home province or country.
Coverage includes:
- Emergency medical and hospital care
- Emergency dental treatment
- Evacuation and repatriation
- Family transportation and accommodation
CAIP travel insurance also includes a Travel Assistance Program, offering international emergency support while abroad.
Flexible options are available to suit athlete needs, including:
- Per-trip coverage
- Annual multi-trip plans
- Group plans for organizations
Travel Medical Fees:
- Par voyage:ย $8 per day + Service Fee (and insurance tax) (minimum $60 for trips up to 7 days)
- Annual Plans:
- 30-day plan: $315 per year
- 60-day plan: $525 per year
- 90-day plan: $870 per year
