Congratulations to 21 year old pro wakeboarder and Canadian Elite Team rider Hunter Smith\u00a0@wake_hunter<\/a>\u00a0, Wake Canada\u2019s Wakeboard Boat Rider Of The Year (2022)!<\/p>\n

The North Vancouver, BC native has grown up through the ranks of Wake Canada and Wake BC events winning his first national title at age 9. His twin brother\u00a0@jordansmith.wake<\/a>\u00a0finished 3rd that same year.<\/p>\n

With a healthy sibling rivalry and active wake family support from parents Rick and Wendy, Hunter won several more age group titles as he progressed. He qualified for the National Development Team in 2017 and then the Elite Team in 2021 when he finished 10th in Men\u2019s Pro at\u00a0@thewwa<\/a>\u00a0World Championship.<\/p>\n

Most recently Hunter scored first in Men\u2019s 1 at the 2023\u00a0@malibuboats<\/a>\u00a0Rider Experience USA South in Alabama and 3rd at Wake The Canyon in Texas.<\/p>\n

While Hunter has been focused on climbing the Boat rider ranks in recent years, he\u2019s is also a talented Wake Park rider. When he\u2019s not training and competing around the world, Hunter has also been developing his coaching resume sharing his passion and skills with the next gen of the\u00a0@wakebc<\/a>\u00a0Wakeboard Team the past years. – Steve Jarrett<\/p>\n
