Water Ski Canada is excited to announce that Jake Chambers from Victoria, BC, will compete for Team Canada at the 2025 IWWF World U21 Waterski Championships. The event will take place from July 31 to August 3, 2025, at Predator Bay Water Ski Club at Lakes of Kastynstone in Calgary, Alberta, where over 100 athletes from 20+ countries will showcase their skills in one of the most thrilling water skiing events of the year.
Jake Chambers, an athlete with 13 years of experience, will compete in Slalom, Trick, and Jump, contributing his scores to the Overall event. His accomplishments include 2nd place in U17 Trick at the 2023 Pan Am Championships, 3rd place in U17 Trick and Overall at the 2021 Pan Am Championships, and a water ski scholarship to attend the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
Reflecting on his journey, Jake shares that his favorite memory in the sport is training with his friends in Florida leading up to the 2023 U17 Worlds. His introduction to water skiing came through his parents, who taught him to ski during summers at Shawnigan Lake, BC. As his skills grew, so did his passion for the sport.
Jake is excited to represent Canada on home soil at the 2025 World U21 Waterski Championships. As part of a dynamic six-person team competing for the Team Overall title, his performance in Slalom, Trick, and Jump will contribute to Canada’s push for the top spot. With high-speed thrills and incredible athleticism expected throughout the event, the competition will be a showcase of some of the world’s top rising stars.
The 2025 IWWF World U21 Waterski Championships promises heart-pounding performances and unforgettable moments as the next generation of water ski athletes aim to make their mark. The event is set to be an unforgettable spectacle for towed water sports fans around the world.
