Earlier this year, Jason McClintock was inducted into the Cambridge Sports Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2026.
Jason becomes the fourth member of the McClintock family to be inducted into the Hall, continuing a family legacy that has had a major impact on Canadian water skiing for decades.
Growing up in one of Canada’s most accomplished water ski families, Jason entered his first ski competition before the age of five and competed at his first National Championships at just eight years old. By the age of nine, he had already captured national titles in Slalom, Trick, and Overall.
In 2004, Jason won the Overall Boys’ title at the World Junior Water Ski Championships while also earning gold medals in Slalom and Trick. That same year, he was named Water Ski and Wakeboard Canada’s top male athlete.
Jason made his Elite World Championships debut in 2005 and continued his international success at the U21 World Championships. In 2006, he won the Overall title, captured gold in Trick, and earned the Bosch Cup for the highest overall score of the tournament.
One of the highlights of Jason’s career came at the 2009 World Championships in Calgary, Alberta, where he helped Canada capture Team Gold.
At the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, Jason earned silver medals in Slalom and Trick. He also earned a bronze medal in Men’s Trick at the 2013 World Games in Colombia.
Throughout his career, Jason has won countless national and international medals while representing Canada around the world. He was also named Water Ski and Wakeboard Canada Male Athlete of the Year in 2004 and WSWC Male Water Ski Athlete of the Year in 2011 and 2012. Jason was most recently named WSWC Coach of the Year in 2024.
