Oli Derome


Oli Derome, as one of Canada’s foremost wake sports experts both on and off the water, would like to continue his volunteer contributions to Wake Canada Sport Council giving back to, advising and supporting the ongoing growth, development and positive direction of wake sports in Canada. In particular, Oli would like to offer his over 15 years as a top world competitor, judge and coach, as well as more recent and extensive experience in the wake sports industry globally.

Hailing from Coteau-du-Lac, Quebec, Oli Derome is among Canada’s most esteemed, respected, experienced, knowledgeable and influential members of the Canadian wake sports community. One of the country’s most decorated wake sports champions, thirty-seven year old Oli Derome has a long legacy of multiple World Series podiums as well as Canadian titles in both Wakeboard Boat and Wakeboard Park from over 20 years of representing Canada on the world stage. Noted titles include: Red Bull Wake Lab (2008); Wakestock World Series (2014 & 2016).

Together with his brother Raph Derome (Wakeboarder Of The Decade 2010-2020), Oli was instrumental in pioneering the evolution of wakeboard rail and street riding. Oli has also operated one of the foremost Wake Sports Schools in Canada as a
professional Coach. Over the past six years, Oli has also given back to the sport as a volunteer Coach for the Wake Canada National Development Team. Oli is also one of the top wake sports judges in the world, officiating at several World
Championships for both Wakeboard Boat, Wakeboard Park and Wakeskate. Most recently, Oli judged the 2023 Wake Park World Championship held at Terminus Wake Park, GA, USA.

Oli is extremely well networked in the wake sports industry and media landscape, including strong working relationships with Follow Wake, Roswell Marine, Malibu Boats, Slingshot Wake (“Oli” pro model board), Rockstar Energy, Wakeboarding
Magazine and Alliance Wake Magazine. Oli is currently a North American Sales Manager for Follow Wake and Eastern North America Sales Manager for Roswell Marine.

Oli has four years experience as a working member of the WAKE CANADA Sport Council, serving as an advisor for the Wake National Team Program. He and has served on the WSWC Pan Am Games Appeals Committee. Oli is an avid wake sports enthusiast and active participant across the entire spectrum of wake sports, including wakeboard, wake park, wakeskate, wakesurf and wake foil. In his spare time in the winter months Oli enjoys snowboarding.
