Qualification for Open Finals at the 2025 Canadian Water Ski Championships
In addition to the current rules/qualifications for Open Finals at the Canadian Championships (CAN14.13), there are additional qualifications for more skiers to be able to compete in the Open Finals.
Slalom:
- Skiers ranked in the top 125 on the July OPEN IWWF World Ranking List secure a guaranteed spot in the Open Finals
- The Women’s Slalom Open Finals will consist of 14 skiers – first pulling from the top 125 on the July
- OPEN IWWF WRL. If all 14 spots are not filled, the rest will be filled from the top 55kph Women skiers at Nationals.
- The Men’s Slalom Open Finals will consist of 18 skiers – first pulling from the top 125 on the July OPEN IWWF WRL. If all 18 sports are not filled, the rest will be filled from the top 58kph Men skiers at Nationals.
Trick:
- Skiers ranked in the top 65 on the July OPEN IWWF World Ranking List secure a guaranteed spot in the Open Finals
- The Women’s Trick Open Finals will consist of 10 skiers – first pulling from the top 65 on the July OPEN IWWF WRL. If all 10 spots are not filled, the rest will be filled from the top Women skiers at Nationals.
- The Men’s Trick Open Finals will consist of 10 skiers – first pulling from the top 65 on the July OPEN IWWF WRL. If all 10 spots are not filled, the rest will be filled from the top Men skiers at Nationals.
Jump:
- Skiers ranked in the top 85 on the July OPEN IWWF World Ranking List secure a guaranteed spot in the Open Finals
- The Women’s Jump Open Finals will consist of 8 skiers – first pulling from the top 85 on the July OPEN IWWF WRL. If all 8 spots are not filled, the rest will be filled from the top Women skiers at Nationals.
- The Men’s Jump Open Finals will consist of 12 skiers – first pulling from the top 85 on the July OPEN IWWF WRL. If all 12 spots are not filled, the rest will be filled from the top Men skiers at Nationals.
Note: 35+ Women Slalom on the first day because they ski at 34mph
