WOMEN ON THE WATER PROGRAM SUPPORT
Water Ski and Wakeboard Canada (WSWC) is pleased to launch the first ever Women on the Water Program Support initiative for 2021. In partnership with Canadian Women and Sport, WSWC has completed a Gender Equity Audit and Action
Plan in support of expanding WSWC’s capacity to facilitate greater engagement of girls and women as participants and leaders. WSWC recognizes the need to support the development and execution of quality programming for girls
and women. In support of this work, the goals of this program are to:
· Support mentorship, participation & leadership programming for girls and women
· Support and elevate existing programming and kick start new programming
· Increase female participation in towed water sports
· Increase opportunities for girls and women to participate and lead in towed water sports
WSWC will be accepting applications for girls and women summer 2021 program designs for
grant support.
Grant Application Timeline
· June 14 th Application Opens
· June 30 th Application Deadline
· July 15 th Funding Announcement
Eligibility Criteria
Women on the Water program support applicants must:
· Must have completed the Canadian Women & Sport Gender ELens Module
· Must be a member in good standing of your Provincial Sport Organization & WSWC
We strongly encourage all individuals/ organizations wishing to apply for funding to attend the virtual
Women on the Water Event on June 15th at 7 pm EST. Attendees of this virtual event will be given
preference in the final decision process for funding allocations.
Rules and Requirements
The following rules and requirements apply to all Women on the Water program support recipients:
· All Women on the Water funded program participants will be required to sign a WSWC waiver and WSWC COVID declaration form
· All Women on the Water funded program support staff (volunteers / coaches / etc.) who are involved with the program must have a 2021 PSO membership
· All Women on the Water events must have at least one Foundations trained coach present during the event; coaches must be a member and in good standing with the PSO and WSWC
· For program delivery, must have WSWC Insurance; or provide proof of equivalent coverage (minimum $5 million in general liability coverage with WSWC as a named insured; and any other Certificate of Insurance requirements as requested by WSWC).
· All programs must include the WSWC icon ( ) on promotional materials and must tag WSWC social account(s) and use any assigned WSWC hashtags in social posts
· If the grant recipient incurs fewer expenses than the approved funding amount, the grant recipient must notify WSWC immediately and the funding amount will be amended accordingly
· Program delivery must be in Canada
· Program deliverables (as outlined below) are mandatory
· Only applications that are completed and submitted in full will be reviewed
Notes on Funding Decisions
The total available program support fund is based on available funds in the WSWC Gender Equity budget, is subject to change and is at the sole discretion of WSWC.
Eligible Areas for Application
The following areas will be considered for funding:
Program Delivery – eligible expenses to be considered for funding could include:
o Facility Costs (All associated costs whether you are renting a facility to run the
program or are using your own facility. Would include costs such as: site rental, cable
rental, staffing, etc. )
· Boat rental or honourarium
· Equipment
·Fuel (boat / generator)
· Food / water
· Communications (program promotion including graphic materials & online / social
promotion)
·Training of volunteers / program leads / support staff
·Honourariums for program leads / support staff
Maximum Funding Levels:
· Facility costs: $500/day
· Boat rental or honourarium: $300/day
· Fuel: $200/day
· Food/water: $100/day (or $5 per person per day)
· Honorariums (program leads / support staff): up to a max of $250/per person per day
Deliverables
All Women on the Water program support recipients will be required to commit to the following:
· Signed Letter of Agreement – must be signed and returned to complete the application process in full. If the signed Agreement is not returned to WSWC within 7 days of receipt of the Agreement by the applicant, the agreed to program support will be reallocated to other applicants.
· Detailed participant list (including waivers) – NOTE: a detailed participant list and waivers will not be required if the event registration is run through the WSWC Event Management System
· Program Report – post activity report to be submitted by September 15 th
· Attendance & participation at the program debrief session in the Fall – save the date:
Sept 28, 2021 at 7pm ET TBC
Funding Schedule
● Program support will be issued by e-transfer; or cheque by request.
● 50% to be issued upon submission of signed Agreement and proof of insurance
● 50% to be issued upon completion of Deliverables
