Water Ski and Wakeboard Canada is proud to announce that Taylor Nullmeyer, from Toronto and now residing in Muskoka, Ontario, will be competing at the 2024 IWWF Open, U23, and Junior World Barefoot Water Ski Championships. The event takes place in Auburndale, Florida, from October 5-12, 2024.
Taylor, a member of the Open Canadian Barefoot Water Ski Team, will compete in all three barefoot disciplines: Slalom, Trick, and Jump. In just five years of competing, Taylor has achieved impressive personal bests, including 12.7 points in slalom, 3050 points in trick, and a jump distance of 12.6 meters.
A seasoned athlete, Taylor’s barefooting journey began when he jumped off the boom of his late father’s MasterCraft Barefoot 200. His passion for the sport grew, and today he is the reigning Canadian Men’s 23-30 champion and a member of the Canadian Show Ski Team.
His goals for the future are to progress to inverted jumping, toe-turns and line step turns. Taylor is also excited about the opportunity to connect with barefooters from around the globe at the World Championships. He describes barefoot water skiing as “the best feeling in the world.”
In addition to his dedication to barefooting, Taylor is a freestyle ski coach in the winter, demonstrating his passion for pushing his limits year-round in both water and snow sports.
