Two Canadians are on the podium at the 30th Jr. Masters 2023.

Nellie Allard (QC) and Megan Pelkey (AB) finished 2nd and 3rd respectively in the Jr. Women’s Jump event. Megan booked her ticket to the final with a personal best of 36.2m/119ft in the semi-finals. Nellie punched her ticket to the final with a score of 37.8m/124ft in the semi-final round. Going into the final, these two ladies were seeded 2nd and 3rd respectively.

In the final, Megan jumped 35.3m/116ft to secure 3rd place. Nellie bettered her semi-final score with a jump of 40.7m/134ft to take the lead with one to go. Australia’s Kristy Appleton won the competition with a jump of 42.1m/138ft.

Fellow Canadian Kate Pinsonneault (BC) also competed in the Jr. Women’s Jump event and finished in 6th place with a score of 32.5m/107ft.

The Jr. Masters is attended by the best junior water skiers from all over the world. The Masters is considered to be one of the most prestigious water sports events in the world. The Masters is held on Robin Lake at Callaway Gardens. The lake was built specifically for the Masters competition. It is held every year over Memorial Day weekend.
