Water Ski and Wakeboard Canada welcomes the Government of Canada’s announcement yesterday of a $755 million investment in Canadian sport over the next five years, including significant funding directed toward National Sport Organizations.
This investment represents an important step toward strengthening a safe, inclusive, and well supported sport system across the country. It will provide National Sport Organizations with greater capacity to support athletes, coaches, officials, and clubs, while enhancing athlete development pathways and increasing access to towed water sports from grassroots participation through to high performance.
This funding also supports continued progress in safe sport, athlete well being, and community sport development, helping ensure more Canadians can participate in and benefit from sport.
Water Ski and Wakeboard Canada thanks the Government of Canada, including Secretary of State for Sport Adam van Koeverden, as well as Sport Canada and the Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Committees, for their leadership and ongoing commitment to sport in Canada.
