Water Ski and Wakeboard Canada Launches Spring Fundraiser
Water Ski and Wakeboard Canada (WSWC) is launching its Spring Online Silent Auction and Donation Drive from April 1-10, 2026, as part of a national effort to stabilize and strengthen towed water sports across Canada during a period of significant funding reductions.
This year’s fundraiser comes at a pivotal time for the organization.In the past year, WSWC has experienced substantial cuts to its funding. These reductions have created real and immediate pressures on the organization’s ability to fully support athlete development, grassroots programming, coaching and officiating education, national events, and international representation. Without supplemental revenue, these funding losses will directly limit programming capacity, reduce available resources for participants and clubs, and place additional financial strain on athletes and families.
While WSWC continues to manage resources responsibly and prioritize essential programming, community support is now more important than ever. The Spring Fundraiser is a critical initiative designed to help offset these financial shortfalls and protect the long-term health of the sport in Canada.
Sustaining Towed Water Sports Across Canada
Funds raised through the fundraiser will directly support:
- Each participating discipline’s sport development initiatives
- Athletes development pathways
- Coaching and officiating education
- National events and programming
- National team training and international competition
- Organizational stability during this period of reduced funding
From introducing new participants to supporting athletes competing on the world stage, this fundraiser plays an important role in strengthening the entire system.
To support this initiative, WSWC is currently seeking donations of auction items from individuals, clubs, and businesses. The deadline to contribute auction items is March 23, 2026. Donated items may include:
- Industry equipment, merch, coaching, and/or water time
- Travel or accommodation packages
- Sporting goods and equipment
- Event tickets
- Professional services
- Unique experiences
- Gift cards

All donors will be recognized as supporters of Water Ski and Wakeboard Canada and the broader towed water sports community.
In addition to donating items, supporters can contribute by promoting the auction within their networks, placing bids once the auction opens on April 1, or making a direct monetary donation at any time during the campaign. Every bid placed and every dollar donated will directly support programming across Canada.
