WSWC Spring Fundraiser Now Live, Supporting the Future of Towed Water Sports in Canada
Calgary, AB – April 1, 2026 – Water Ski and Wakeboard Canada (WSWC) has officially launched its national Spring Online Silent Auction and Donation Drive, running from April 1–10, 2026. The fundraiser brings together supporters from across the country to help sustain and strengthen towed water sports during a period of significant financial pressure.
In the past year, WSWC has experienced substantial funding reductions, creating real challenges for athlete development, grassroots programming, coaching and officiating education, national events, and international representation. Without additional support, these cuts will directly impact opportunities for participants, clubs, and athletes across Canada.
“This fundraiser reflects the strength of our community and the shared commitment to keeping towed water sports moving forward in Canada,” said Russ Dickson, President of Water Ski and Wakeboard Canada. “At a time when funding has been reduced, the support from across the country is critical. Every bid, donation, and contribution helps ensure that athletes, clubs, and programs continue to have the support they need.”
The Spring Fundraiser is a key initiative to help offset these losses and maintain the programs that support the sport at every level.
Auction Highlights
The online silent auction features a wide range of items, including high-value experiences, travel, sport equipment, and unique memorabilia. Notable items include:
- A Limited Edition 2026 Radar Senate Pro Build Slalom Ski from Shuswap Ski & Board, valued at nearly $2,800
- An Olympian autographed K2 snowboard ridden and autographed by Cameron Spalding
- A Paralympic jersey worn and signed by Gold Medalist, Jon Thurston, Wheelchair Curling Team Member.
- Montreal Canadiens and Edmonton Oilers NHL game tickets, offering memorable live sport experiences
- Travel opportunities including ski resort stays and lift tickets across Canada, including an Ultimate Halifax Romance Package at The Westin Nova Scotian
- Evening cruise aboard the historic “Lazee Gal” in Vancouver
The auction also features coaching experiences, training opportunities, gift cards, and items donated by athletes, clubs, and supporters from across the community.
