The Predator Bay Water Ski Club is excited to be hosting the 2017 Nautique Canadian Water Ski National Championships. Predator Bay is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and hosting Nationals will be a great way to celebrate with so many skiers from across Canada. We are also undertaking a number of initiatives to increase the value of the event for the Participants by including a second round for all skiers. The event will start on Wednesday, August 9 with familiarization for all provinces. Nationals events will run on Wednesday evening, all day Thursday and Friday morning and afternoon. 2017 Nautique Canadian Water Ski National Champions will be awarded on Round 1.

WHAT’S NEW

Super Finals – Once the 2017 Nautique Canadian Water Ski National Championships are completed, a percentage of athletes will advance to condensed divisions and will ski against the best of the best. Friday evening will feature the Veterans. Saturday will feature the Open, U21, U17 and U14 age groups. Once final registration is complete the exact schedule and format will be posted. In addition we will have a consolation round for all skiers who do not qualify for the Super Finals. These skiers will have a 2nd round of skiing 1 event per person. The consolation round will begin Friday evening and then continue through Saturday. Our intent is that every skier gets get to ski in a 2nd round in at least one event.

ENTRY FEES INCLUDE BANQUET TICKET AT HERITAGE POINT GOLF COURSE. (Value $50)
Single Event skier $200
Multi Event skier $250 (2 or 3 events)
Additional Family Member $100 each after 2 others have signed up (multi-event skiers pricing will be charged first before additional family members discounted rate apply)

Once you SUBMIT your registration – we will email you with your Invoice shortly after that. We will accept PAYMENT via e-transfer. Payment is due 48 hours after you receive your invoice. A Bio form will be sent to you at a later date that will need to be completed prior to the event.

FAMILIARIZATION:
DRAFT – Familiarization will be from 8am to 5pm on Wednesday August 9. Both lakes will be used. Teams will start with AB on Lake 1, and then AB will move to Lake 2 to complete. All teams will follows this pattern.

BC ~ 9/9:30am
SK ~ 10:30/11am
MN ~ 11:30/12
ON ~ 12:30
QB ~ 2pm
ATL ~ 3/3:30
Adaptive ~ 4pm

Because we are using both lakes, familiarization will move much quicker than years past. Please be aware of the proposed start times for your provinces familiarization. If you intend on arriving in Calgary on Wednesday August 9 you will be well advised to book an early departure that has you arriving in Calgary well in advance of your scheduled time (Predator Bay is a 30 to 40 minute drive from the airport). We appreciate that this is a change from previous years, but it is necessary in order to offer the 2nd round of skiing.

LAKE 1 & 2: All Slalom Divisions (except for Elite, M5, U21, U17M)

FRIDAY AM:
LAKE 1/LAKE 2: Elite Men & Women, M5, U21, U17M Slalom, Elite Jump Women, Trick Elite Men & Women

FRIDAY PM:
SUPER FINALS START: Veterans Divisions: Lake 1: Jump Veteran Men & Women. Slalom Veteran Women, Elite Men Jump, Slalom Veteran Men.

SATURDAY:
LAKE 1 – SUPER FINALS: Slalom & Jump Open Division and U21 and younger divisions.
LAKE 2 – Open Trick – CONSOLATION ROUND: Slalom

NOTE: (Those advancing based on min. score + number of entries. Due to time and # of entries anticipated, there will be SUPER FINALS for Slalom and Jump ONLY, Except for the OPEN Division who will compete in Slalom, Trick and Jump on Saturday).
